Background

The SMP Bioinformatics within NGFN has developed methods for the analysis of biomedical data, often in close collaboration with biomedical groups. This covers steps from statistical data analysis, database development, software development and training to the functional analysis of gene groups and reconstruction of molecular networks. Our future aims go into the direction of Medical Systems Biology and to a full dynamical understanding of the underlying complex systems. In this workshop we would like to present our findings to the scientific community, along with a chance to meet and discuss and to have some outlook into the field by the presentations of some external high-profile keynote speakers.

How to find us

We meet Monday, November 12., at 9am at the big lecture hall at the DKFZ main building, The DKFZ lies on the science campus of the university of Heidelberg, Im Neuenheimer Feld 280.

The closest airport (by time, not by distance) is Frankfurt/Main. It is approximately 90km away, but has a nice high-speed train connection to Heidelberg via Mannheim. Travel by train is about 1 hour. Other airports would be Karlsruhe/Baden Airport and Stuttgart. Travel directions are at the DKFZ web site, too.

Accomodation

You will need to make your own accommodation arrangements.
